Underpad Story
The inspiration behind the design of the antibacterial underpad comes from the designer’s grandmother.
Due to her advanced age, she suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed, unable to care for herself, and confined to bed for long-term care.
The family purchased many underpads to maintain her grandmother’s hygiene and keep the home clean. Although they could be changed promptly during the day, detecting wetness immediately at night was difficult, leading to delayed changes. By morning, her grandmother’s skin often became
red and irritated from prolonged contact with the damp underpaid.
Could a more absorbent, leak-proof, and antibacterial underpad be developed?
After six months of hard work, this antibacterial underpad was finally created. It can be used for 24 hours and has passed multiple rigorous tests, truly fulfilling the designer’s vision.
However, it is a regret that the designer’s grandmother passed away before she could use this innovation.
The designer silently wishes: May every bedridden patient receive thoughtful care and leave this world with dignity.
